Beyoncé endorses Harris for president at Houston rally: “It’s time to sing a new song” Updated by CBS/AP on October 26, 2024, at 10:08 AM EDT

Beyoncé endorses Harris for president at Houston rally: “It’s time to sing a new song” I’m not here to be a politician or a celebrity. “As a mother, I’m here,” Beyoncé declared. “A mother who cares deeply about the world my children and all of our children live in, a world where we have the freedom to control our bodies, a world where we’re not divided.”
“Imagine our daughters growing up seeing what’s possible with no ceilings, no limitations,” she said. “We must vote, and we need you.”
“America needs to sing a new tune. Together, our voices form a chorus. They sing of opportunity and dignity. She asked, “Are you all prepared to contribute your voices to the new American song?” “Ladies and gentlemen, please give a big, loud, Texas welcome to the next president of the United States, Vice President Kamala Harris.”
She didn’t perform, in contrast to her 2016 appearance at a Hilary Clinton presidential rally in Cleveland.
The song was first played by Harris at her campaign headquarters in Delaware in July, when she made her first formal public appearance as a presidential contender. Tina Knowles, Beyoncé’s mother, openly supported Harris for president the same month.
